Dolores Emily Wilck
born 9/27/1927, deceased 4/12/99

A formal portrait. My mother grew up in Dolton, she played clarinet.
My mother's death was a result of diabetes. This disease does not kill, but the break down of the body does cause death. Without the function of the pancreas to aid in the process of sugar to the system, needed nutrients for healing, circulation, and healthy organs eventually leads to death. |

| The following was read by my son at my mother's funeral:
Dear grandma,
I started life with love and took for granted what I had. moving alone roughly I found a distant distraction to reality. brought into focus by the loss of my father, was how important what I had was. so in grief I abandoned all I needed, my family, friends and people I loved. several years down the road I discovered I was missing something, it was the love I started with in the beginning from my mother, my friends and most of all an unconditional love I received from you. I wasn't yours, but it didn't matter, I wasn't the model son/grandson, and still you loved me through it all. and for a period of time I was absent from giving love to you that you needed from me. Never the less you loved me and always will. I was coming around and wanted you in my life for good. I made plans to spend time, to make up for time lost, but I learned through this, that you live for now and don't dwell on then. If you just do what you need to at this point in time, it doesn't exactly matter what happens then. I love you with all my Heart, and in my soul. peace be in your Heart and know that I and everyone you toucHed shall always love you.
Your loving grandson,
Robert C. Rauh, 1999 |
